01:37-01:42
Here we go. We’re going to kick it off with a couple of new ones.
01:42-01:50
First by Amy Lee. Her new song. It just came out yesterday. Hand the feeds.
01:50-01:55
And apologies by Three Days Grace.
01:55-02:03
We got a ton of new music to play for you and a ton to talk about here on the Saturday Shitshow.
02:03-02:11
By the way, folks, really ashamed to hear about the guy from Three Doors Down Stage 4 Cancer.
02:11-02:15
They’re canceling their entire tour this year for him.
02:15-02:17
It’s really a shame they’ve been around for so long.
02:17-02:21
And Stage 4 isn’t really good. It started, I guess, in his kidney.
02:21-02:25
Then it worked its way into his lungs and all that. So it’s really sad.
02:25-02:32
One of the true greats of that era. They just had a comeback a couple years ago.
02:32-02:36
Well, they never really went away. They had a big comeback again a couple years ago.
02:36-02:39
It’s a shame to kind of see that happen.
02:39-02:46
But we wish him the best and we still enjoy all the music they’ve made over the years.
02:46-02:48
Just a wonderful group.
02:48-02:58
So speaking of, plenty we don’t really play here too much, but Lady Gaga played in front of 2.3 million people at a free concert.
02:58-03:06
It broke the record that Madonna set in, I think it was 2018 with 1.8 million.
03:06-03:14
So currently she’s holding the record for the largest live crowd for a concert right now.
03:14-03:16
So good for her. That’s a lot of fun.
03:16-03:22
I do actually, my kids do enjoy her music. I actually do listen to her music a little bit.
03:22-03:28
She’s just, the songs are catchy, man. She’s just like Michael Jackson was.
03:28-03:38
Her songs are just catchy. You listen to them once and it’s like, but then after a couple times you get that earworm and yet you kind of can’t stop listening.
03:38-03:42
So she’s one of those artists, man. So good for her.
03:42-03:46
Also too, some other news as well.
03:46-03:58
Met Gala was this past week. I’m not really hugely into fashion, but I guess the big one was that of course Rihanna is having another baby.
03:58-04:00
That was kind of the headline of the event.
04:00-04:05
But the Met Gala is, I mean that is a big, big thing.
04:05-04:11
Like I said, you see, I mean every big celebrity attends that event.
04:11-04:17
Not all of them, but a big majority of them do attend that event.
04:17-04:27
So that is really cool. And like I said, I think Rihanna was kind of the hit of it by announcing because a lot of people, there was speculation about it, but I guess she announced it there.
04:27-04:31
So kind of the big news of that particular night.
04:31-04:41
So by the way, folks, I want to point out, I forgot to mention last weekend when we were on the show, obviously the May 4th, May the 4th be with you.
04:41-04:44
Star Wars days was this past Sunday.
04:44-04:49
A bunch of people like you didn’t bring it up on the show. I’m like, well, I did the show on Saturday, it was a third.
04:49-04:56
But yeah, May 4th. I did actually watch one Star Wars movie that day.
04:56-04:58
I didn’t watch them all. I didn’t have the time.
04:58-05:05
But we did watch the Phantom Menace. My wife and I really liked that one. I know it doesn’t get a good, and a lot of people like about it.
05:05-05:13
But I really liked it. You and McGregor, Liam Neeson, all that, that double light saber. That was big first time when I was younger.
05:13-05:15
It was actually a really good watch.
05:15-05:23
You know, it’s amazing how many times I’ve seen that movie and you still pick up on stuff that you missed. It’s just crazy.
05:23-05:31
Like I said, I’ve seen that movie a million times and you still see stuff that I didn’t notice that. I didn’t notice that.
05:31-05:35
It’s really cool. I like that movie.
05:35-05:40
If I had to put them in order, I would definitely watch Phantom Menace.
05:40-05:47
I would definitely watch Phantom Menace.
05:47-05:54
Emperor Strikes Back, Jedi, Return of the Jedi was really good.
05:54-06:02
And the third one, I forget the name of it all, I’m going to have a Sith where Anakin turns to the dark side.
06:02-06:09
And I do think New Hope is up there as well. That would probably be the fifth one I watch.
06:09-06:15
Out of the new ones, the new, was it the Return of Skywalker or the Rise of Skywalker?
06:15-06:19
She’s actually supposed to be in another Star Wars movie coming up here soon.
06:19-06:24
Like I said, if you’re a fan like I am, all those movies never get old.
06:24-06:26
I mean, any of them come on. I can stop and watch it.
06:26-06:29
But like I said, we all have our favorites.
06:29-06:36
So I want to talk to you a minute seriously. It’s very important about the new Thunderbolts movie.
06:36-06:38
Have you seen it yet?
06:38-06:43
If you haven’t seen it yet, well, it’s not really a spoiler because it’s been all over social media.
06:43-06:52
The real name, of course, was the new Avengers. Apparently Thunderbolts was just a placeholder name.
06:52-06:56
Kind of like, you know, kind of bait and switch kind of thing.
06:56-07:01
But apparently, like I said, it is the new, the new Avengers.
07:01-07:06
So I’m curious to see what’s going to happen. They spelled Avengers a little bit different.
07:06-07:09
So we’ll have to have to see.
07:09-07:12
We know the Fantastic Four is in July.
07:12-07:19
So and we know obviously we kind of know the roadmap, but curious to see how these little things are going to going to lead up.
07:19-07:27
Apparently, they’re saying obviously the Fantastic Four is going to lead into the new Avengers movie.
07:27-07:30
So we’ll have to see. No spoiler alerts there.
07:30-07:34
Obviously, we all know that, you know, that it’s been on social media.
07:34-07:36
If you don’t know by now, you must be missing out.
07:36-07:42
So that was, of course, part of part of the big news I thought this week as far as entertainment goes,
07:42-07:49
because they actually had a part where the whole cast was there and actually ripped the bottom of the movie poster.
07:49-07:51
And it turned out to be the new Avengers.
07:51-07:55
So I thought that was a was actually pretty cool.
07:55-08:01
And it was nice to, you know, to see those people that have been a lot had a lot of little parts in a bunch of other movies.
08:01-08:04
Kind of finally get their big Avengers movie.
08:04-08:07
So good for them.
08:07-08:11
Also, too, by the way, in the news, this is kind of interesting.
08:11-08:16
Fallout 2 season two on Amazon had just wrapped filming.
08:16-08:20
No words yet on what it’s going to release, but it will be releasing.
08:20-08:27
They’re saying hopefully the next year or so, but they just they just finished wrapping it the other day.
08:27-08:30
So I thought that was rather interesting.
08:30-08:35
Coming up Memorial Day weekend, Fountain of Youth, a new movie on Apple Plus.
08:35-08:40
It actually I watched a trailer just before it looks really, really good.
08:40-08:43
So I am kind of looking forward to that.
08:43-08:46
That should be I might I might actually watch that on Apple Plus.
08:46-08:48
It actually looks really good.
08:48-08:52
They’ve got a couple big name actors and an actresses in it.
08:52-08:54
So I’m looking forward to that.
08:54-08:59
Let’s see what else do we have as far as entertainment news.
08:59-09:06
Oh, by the way, I wanted to point out those of you guys that pay for YouTube premium, the one without the ads.
09:06-09:09
If you have a family plan, that’s great.
09:09-09:13
But if just say it’s you and your spouse or you and your fiance or whatever.
09:13-09:17
YouTube is setting up a couples plan, kind of like the same thing that Spotify did.
09:17-09:21
Spotify actually is the first one to really come out with that couples plan.
09:21-09:27
And it really they really saw a ton of growth because people like just paying for the two rather than a family family.
09:27-09:28
Two people on it.
09:28-09:30
So good for them.
09:30-09:32
Obviously, we have a new pope.
09:32-09:34
I’m not going to get too much into that.
09:34-09:36
That’s been pretty much covered by mainstream news.
09:36-09:39
So we’ll just leave that one alone.
09:39-09:40
But we do have a new pope.
09:40-09:44
And I know you guys are like, when’s it going to talk about wrestling?
09:44-09:49
I will talk about wrestling right after this particular round of songs.
09:49-09:53
Kicking it off with awesome new song by Hailstorm.
09:53-09:54
New just came out last week.
09:54-09:56
Darkness always.
09:56-09:57
Right.
09:57-09:58
YouTube.
09:58-09:59
Elevation.
09:59-10:02
One of my favorite songs by them.
10:02-10:12
I know it’s kind of cliche because they have so many great songs, but also to they’re going to be doing the immersive video as well with Apple coming up here.
10:12-10:14
I think next month or something like that.
10:14-10:16
It’s going to be fully immersive.
10:16-10:19
Obviously, you have to have a I mean, it’s going to come out on regular Apple TV as well.
10:19-10:24
But if you want to fully immersive, you’re going to have to have the Apple headset, the Vision Pro.
10:24-10:25
But we’ll see.
10:25-10:26
It looks really good.
10:26-10:32
If you notice YouTube and Metallica, YouTube and Metallica have always been on board with anything new.
10:32-10:37
Apple’s really doing the iPod, all that kind of stuff, the Vision Pro now.
10:37-10:41
Anytime live streaming, they’re one of the on YouTube.
10:41-10:46
They’re always kind of a kind of the first ones to kind of get out there with it.
10:46-10:49
Any kind of new tech comes out them and Metallica.
10:49-10:50
So good.
10:50-10:51
Good for them.
10:51-10:52
It’s pretty good.
10:52-10:57
Like I said, I do want to talk about wrestling a little bit.
10:57-11:03
That dog collar match on TNA was probably one of the that could have been a pay per view quality match.
11:03-11:04
It really could have.
11:04-11:07
That was that was a brutal match.
11:07-11:09
I really enjoyed it.
11:09-11:10
Go ahead and check that out.
11:10-11:11
It is free on YouTube.
11:11-11:13
You can watch it right now if you want.
11:13-11:17
That was like a 17 minute match and it was pretty brutal.
11:17-11:20
We haven’t had first dog collar match in two years on impact.
11:20-11:27
And Eric Young, of course, the veteran net always delivers him and who’s he facing?
11:27-11:28
I’m sorry.
11:28-11:30
Either way, it was a it was a brutal match.
11:30-11:31
So don’t take my word for it.
11:31-11:32
Go watch it.
11:32-11:33
It’s free on YouTube right now.
11:33-11:38
I think it’s that particular match has I think it’s got like last time I checked that had a few hundred thousand views already.
11:38-11:40
It’s only been up like 24 hours.
11:40-11:42
It was it was a really good match.
11:42-11:47
Got a little color, got a little bloody, got a little brutal, but it did.
11:47-11:48
It definitely delivered.
11:48-11:49
So go ahead and check it out.
11:49-11:50
Like I said, it’s on YouTube.
11:50-11:51
It’s free.
11:51-12:00
Also to by the way, if anybody saw the viral things went a little viral the other day, John Cena got a beer bottle thrown at him.
12:00-12:02
And I guess they removed the guy from the arena.
12:02-12:04
Not really.
12:04-12:06
I mean, back in the day, you could throw debris in the ring.
12:06-12:08
Not anymore is not accepted.
12:08-12:17
We all remember when Hulk Hogan went bad and everybody was just chucking debris into the ring because everybody was so freakin couldn’t believe that he turned bad.
12:17-12:20
Not seeing this kind of feeling the same thing a little bit.
12:20-12:23
But like I said, throwing a beer bottle at him, it’s not really appropriate.
12:23-12:25
Could hurt him stuff like that.
12:25-12:29
So but like I said, Joe, she’s getting true heel heat.
12:29-12:38
Also to would love to point out that the there was a Alexa Bliss made her return in a tag match.
12:38-12:43
Obviously the I can’t even explain it.
12:43-12:47
I really I didn’t for the longest time like Alexa Bliss.
12:47-12:52
But ever since her comeback, I’m really digging her character and the way they’re pushing her.
12:52-13:00
Chelsea Green without a doubt is the most underrated heal they have right now.
13:00-13:03
She just sells it when she lost her title.
13:03-13:08
Whenever she fainted, they had to catch her when she when she saw it was going to be Alexa Bliss.
13:08-13:09
She freaked out.
13:09-13:14
I mean, she is such an amazing heal, such an amazing talent.
13:14-13:17
It’s hard to believe that she was on tough enough.
13:17-13:19
What in 2015?
13:19-13:31
I think 2015 2017 something that and to see where she’s come and how she’s I mean, it definitely shows those reality shows don’t always get the right person because the person I mean, it just shows it.
13:31-13:35
I mean, not saying Chris Jericho didn’t do a good job as a host of the production crew or anything like that.
13:35-13:40
But it just shows you that they don’t always get it right on those kind of shows.
13:40-13:43
It was great to she’s fantastic.
13:43-13:53
Just the way she sells and the way she acts and and just just the whole like I like Chelsea Green as a bad guy because she’s so freaking good at it.
13:53-13:55
Like it’s just one of those kinds of things.
13:55-14:05
Even in and I don’t know, I think we would call her like an anti hero because even when she was the champ in a face, she still did things that were kind of healish.
14:05-14:07
So it’s pretty cool.
14:07-14:09
Like I said, really enjoying her.
14:09-14:10
I don’t I don’t really watch.
14:10-14:11
I haven’t been watching Raw as much.
14:11-14:13
I admit that I haven’t watched in Raw as much.
14:13-14:15
I haven’t been watching Smackdown because we’ve got peacock.
14:15-14:17
So you can watch Smackdown on there.
14:17-14:23
We don’t really we have we have Netflix, but I think we’re getting rid of it because it’s just it’s not worth saving.
14:23-14:29
I mean, honestly, I hate to be that guy, but I don’t think it’s worth having Netflix just for Raw.
14:29-14:31
Raw hasn’t been that good lately.
14:31-14:33
It’s been OK, but not great.
14:33-14:36
But the way I brought this up the last couple of shows.
14:36-14:45
Has anybody noticed that during Raw and the pay per views and all that, you have all the sponsors on the WWE mat, but you don’t have them on Smackdown.
14:45-14:47
It’s just a regular mat with the WLG.
14:47-14:49
So anyway, notice in that I googled it.
14:49-14:51
Nobody could tell me why that still is.
14:51-14:59

16:01-16:10
Sleepwalker by The Pretty Wild. They are in this moment over the summer.
16:10-16:13
They are going to be one of their opening acts for them.
16:13-16:15
So take a look at them.
16:15-16:17
Like I said, The Pretty Wild. They’ve got some wonderful songs.
16:17-16:22
Like I said, they are opening up for in this moment on their summer tour.
16:22-16:25
I got a couple of requests that came in.
16:25-16:27
Somebody wants to hear skillet.
16:27-16:33
I can definitely accommodate that as well as they want to hear the offspring.
16:33-16:35
So we’ll play that next.
16:35-16:43
If you want to request a song or if you want me to talk about something or if you have something you want me to even say or whatever,
16:43-16:51
go ahead, Brandon@rockradio.live. Again, Brandon@rockradio.live.
16:51-16:55
Skillet Unpopular here on Helix Rock Radio.
16:55-16:59
Alright, little Jimmy World. Somebody requested that.
16:59-17:04
I got the email. I tried to drag the song over into the queue quickly,
17:04-17:08
but unfortunately caught right amount of time the audio was supposed to play.
17:08-17:12
So you got a little intro there. A little rev up as they used to call it in the business.
17:12-17:17
By the way, those of you that don’t know, in radio, back in the day,
17:17-17:23
the music that played at the part up to when the person started singing,
17:23-17:30
the DJ would have to fill in that spot with talk or whatever he would do.
17:30-17:33
And he’d rev the song up sometimes. The music would start playing.
17:33-17:37
And here we are now playing The Beast Boys here on it.
17:37-17:40
And they would have to rev up. They didn’t want that dead air in there.
17:40-17:47
Things have changed, but back in the 90s and late 80s, they would have to kind of fill that time in.
17:47-17:49
It was kind of funny. I remember those days.
17:49-17:55
So some other things I wanted to get into that run the list of things to talk about.
17:55-18:01
I read in the story in the news today. It kind of made me laugh.
18:01-18:08
That’s why I brought it up. Apparently Mark Zuckerberg wanted to go hell of skiing in this one particular place.
18:08-18:14
And in order to do that, you can’t land helicopters in the area where he wanted.
18:14-18:19
So what he did was he bought a yacht and a supporting yacht.
18:19-18:22
So in other words, you have a yacht where you and your family stay,
18:22-18:25
but then there’s a supporting yacht for the crew and all that.
18:25-18:27
And then he bought a helicopter too.
18:27-18:38
So it was like $300 million he spent for him and his wife and his kids to go hell of skiing a couple of months ago.
18:38-18:42
And hey, he’s one of the richest guys in the world. Congrats if he can do that.
18:42-18:49
But that’s a I would say that’s probably the most expensive vacation I’ve ever heard of.
18:49-18:53
That is a buttload of money just to go hell of skiing for a couple of days.
18:53-19:02
You really got to like skiing and really got to like heights and helicopters and boats to spend $300 million.
19:02-19:04
But when you got billions, what do you care?
19:04-19:10
But yeah, that was his he said that was his vacation.
19:10-19:14
Spring break vacation or like that. Yeah, it’s that’s a hell of a vacation.
19:14-19:20
And I love by the way, and I’m not like, hey, everybody has the right to raise their children when they want to raise them.
19:20-19:27
But then he makes a comment a couple of weeks ago that him and his wife don’t spoil their children.
19:27-19:32
Yeah, they do understand that most families can’t spend $300 million to go hell of skiing.
19:32-19:39
Just just saying. Speaking of vacation spots that families like to go to.
19:39-19:43
Maryland Six Flags is closing up at the end of this season.
19:43-19:48
They said the 500 acres is going to be sold and used to develop.
19:48-19:52
So they are closing up after many, many years.
19:52-19:55
I went there as a kid, friends of mine.
19:55-20:00
We all went there that I think that was we the kind of about four or five hours away from Maryland.
20:00-20:09
So we used to take senior trip and stuff down there and sometimes they would take the groups from the class schools of down there.
20:09-20:18
So it was a pretty popular spot when I was in high school, but I think they said attendance has gone down and some of that and the property is worth more than just selling amusement park tickets.
20:18-20:22
So unfortunately, it’s a shame to see that, but it is happening.
20:22-20:25
Six Flags is going out of business.
20:25-20:35
I remember a lot of Six Flags, Six Flags and like SeaWorld and stuff like that were really popular television ads when I was a kid and growing up in the 90s.
20:35-20:40
So also to Rite Aid is going out of business.
20:40-20:43
Finally, they said that they are declaring chapter 11.
20:43-20:47
So Rite Aids will be going out of business.
20:47-20:52
Also to 100 big lots stores are closing up.
20:52-21:00
And I believe we already talked about this last week, but Forever 21 is also to going bankrupt and closing the doors.
21:00-21:03
We talked about that last week, but I just wanted to make sure there’s a lot of stores closing up.
21:03-21:06
So I want to make sure I got them all.
21:06-21:12
I think J.C. Penney has even announced that they’re going to be closing some stores as well.
21:12-21:13
Not all of them, obviously.
21:13-21:15
Rite Aids is going out of business.
21:15-21:22
So is obviously not what big knots is going out of, but they’re cooling down a bunch of their stores.
21:22-21:29
But it’s just crazy to see all these department stores and all these bigger stores that are kind of going out of business.
21:29-21:36
And Rite Aid, a couple of years ago, declared bankruptcy and I guess to try to reorganize their debt and they still couldn’t pay it off.
21:36-21:39
That’s why Rite Aid is going out.
21:39-21:45
But Forever 21, that was a big store maybe 10, 12 years ago.
21:45-21:47
That was a really popular clothing store.
21:47-21:49
I think it’s hard as a clothing store.
21:49-21:53
Some of those brands like American Eagle and stuff like that have survived.
21:53-22:01
But I think those clothing store businesses are a little bit on the tougher side to keep going, especially with Mallspace being a premium price.
22:01-22:03
Big Lots, always a bargain store.
22:03-22:07
So it doesn’t kind of surprise me that they’re closing up some stores.
22:07-22:15
And the surprises me, the one place that has been opening a lot of more stores is Hobby Lobby.
22:15-22:22
I think that maker, people that are makers and stuff like that, that’s really making a comeback, especially with 3D printing and stuff like that.
22:22-22:27
A lot of people are getting into making and you see like Hobby Lobby is coming up all over the place.
22:27-22:35
You know, it just downs me that those kind of places, you know, Hobby places aren’t cheap.
22:35-22:42
It’s a lot of real estate to sell materials, but Hobby Lobby and they make it work and they even close on Sunday.
22:42-22:45
So good for them if they can do it.
22:45-22:49
It’s a tough, any kind of retail business with the internet is a tough business.
22:49-22:53
All right, Marilyn Manson in the air today.
22:53-22:56
I tell you, he’s a new one out by him.
22:56-22:59
His covers, I don’t know, are better than his originals.
22:59-23:01
Anybody know why? Tell me.
23:01-23:05
By the way, I wanted to bring up talk about wrestling a little bit more.
23:05-23:11
Bailey and obviously Becky Lynch are feuding now.
23:11-23:17
Obviously Becky saying she took she took Bailey out so that she could wrestle at Mania.
23:17-23:25
Obviously it’s a storyline, but it’s it’s funny that people don’t remember that they had a feud in NXT.
23:25-23:29
Obviously in wrestling with oldest new again, but yes, they are having a feud.
23:29-23:32
I’m like, does anybody remember they had a feud in NXT?
23:32-23:33
Does anybody remember that?
23:33-23:41
I know it was like six years ago, seven years ago, but it’s amazing how things get forgotten in WWE or wrestling in general.
23:41-23:43
It’s just funny.
23:43-23:51
But I will say over in TNA though, talking about somebody who was a big name, Blanchard obviously, his Tully, his daughter, Tessa.
23:51-23:55
I really enjoying her work over on over on TNA.
23:55-23:59
I can see eventually she’s going to be going to WWE.
23:59-24:04
You know it just like Chelsea Green, who was the hot mess for a while over there went to WWE.
24:04-24:09
Anytime they have a good talent, we know that Joe Henry eventually is going to land over there too.
24:09-24:12
There’s a lot of people that are going to land over there.
24:12-24:18
Have you remember people forget that Eric Young and some of those guys were over in TNA Bobby Roode, some of that.
24:18-24:20
Then they stayed there for a little bit and then they came back.
24:20-24:23
Same thing with James Storm, some of those original TNA guys.
24:23-24:29
They went to NXT for a while, but I think, and I’m not trying to be rude, but I think some of them were just aged out.
24:29-24:34
They were just getting too old to, WWE’s not going to sign them when they’re pushing almost 40.
24:34-24:40
I know it sounds terrible, but then unfortunately, age is a big factor in those kinds of things.
24:40-24:48
I will say, I’m a person who my daughter absolutely, Lydia actually loves Joe Henry.
24:48-24:51
I mean, every time she hears the music, she comes running into the room.
24:51-24:57
My wife, who is not a huge wrestling fan, has said many times, “Man, that music got stuck on my head again.”
24:57-25:00
She’s like, “You guys stop.” So it’s pretty funny.
25:00-25:04
His theme song, he wrote his own theme song and it is very, very catchy, man.
25:04-25:05
I really like it.
25:05-25:08
Like I said, it’s that 120 beats per minute thing.
25:08-25:12
The same thing that Queen and those kind of guys used to use.
25:12-25:14
So I thought it was really, really cool.
25:14-25:17
Oh, by the way, in tech news, I want to point something out.
25:17-25:22
Somebody told me about this and I completely forgot to mention it before.
25:22-25:28
Apparently, we all remember, obviously we all know on YouTube, there’s a dislike button.
25:28-25:33
Apparently, X now is adding a dislike button.
25:33-25:36
But it’s only going to be for downvoting replies.
25:36-25:38
So you can’t downvote the video itself.
25:38-25:41
You can only downvote the reply.
25:41-25:43
So if somebody makes a comment that you don’t like, you can downvote it.
25:43-25:47
And it’s not like a thumb up, thumb down thing.
25:47-25:50
It’s like a heart and then a broken heart is the downvote.
25:50-25:59
Like I said, it’s intended, according to X, their press release, it’s intended to help users signal that a reply is not relevant or useful.
25:59-26:03
It’s going to be used to help with the comment rating system.
26:03-26:11
They feel the button is currently being tested and officially will roll out to premium users, meaning people that pay for it.
26:11-26:17
So if you’re not going to be able to do live streaming on it, like us, we actually do pay for X because we live stream on it.
26:17-26:19
But apparently that’s what they’re going to use.
26:19-26:22
I will say this isn’t, I mean, an uncommon thing.
26:22-26:30
I mean, even in the early days of the internet, with sites like slash dot, I mean, I don’t get really geeky here, but they used to have the downvote.
26:30-26:37
If a comment was just not relevant or really didn’t add to the conversation, you could downvote it.
26:37-26:41
Or if a conversation, you know, if it’s not really relevant or whatever, you can downvote it.
26:41-26:43
They mean this isn’t nothing new.
26:43-26:45
I mean, YouTube still does it.
26:45-26:48
Google Plus used to do it.
26:48-26:54
Facebook doesn’t have a dislike button, but they used to.
26:54-26:56
I think they got rid of it.
26:56-26:58
Like I said, something they’re working on.
26:58-27:06
And I think with the comments and the type of comments and the direction in which X is pushing, I think they need a better comment moderation system.
27:06-27:08
So I think this is could be good.
27:08-27:11
Obviously with anything like this, people can abuse it and downvote.
27:11-27:22
But the thing that’s nice about this particular way they’re doing it and the way you like slash dot did it back in the day is there, if you get a downvote, like couple of people downvote it, but a bunch of people upvote it.
27:22-27:28
You know, they kind of, you know, kind of, it looks at both systems and bumps the other one up instead of down.
27:28-27:32
Because just the way that the comment systems work with likes and dislikes.
27:32-27:33
So it’s pretty cool.
27:33-27:36
People obviously still can kind of abuse it.
27:36-27:45
But for the most part, when you have upvotes versus downvotes, they tends to kind of balance it out and tends to kind of moderate a little better.
27:45-27:47
So we will, we’ll see about this.
27:47-27:51
Like I said, they’re going to be rolling it out rolling it out to premium users first for the world to everybody.
27:51-27:59
But I there they’ve also added like reels, which I think X Twitter needed and they kept kind of messing around with it.
27:59-28:19
They’ve done a lot of different things with video and really have turned X kind of more into that social network thing where for a while I mean, I mean, Twitter was always been kind of the town hall, but they were missing stuff that draws people to the platforms like like short form video and stuff like that.
28:19-28:22
So good for them in the sense.
28:22-28:27
I know a lot a lot of people are fans of X, but the problem is, you know, we have a lot of fans on there.
28:27-28:28
I have a lot of fans on there.
28:28-28:29
A lot of friends on there.
28:29-28:34
And you know, the old saying with social networking is you go where your friends are.
28:34-28:37
And I have had some friends move over to blue skies and stuff like that.
28:37-28:46
But I still have a lot of programmer friends and a lot of people that are into music and bands and stuff that I follow that are over there that aren’t on blue skies and stuff like that.
28:46-28:49
Again, that’s the problem with social networking is you go where your friends are.
28:49-28:51
I sleep token.
28:51-28:53
A lot of people requested this.
28:53-28:54
I’m not going to lie.
28:54-28:58
It’s not my favorite song, but a lot of people request sleep token.
28:58-29:01
They’re a great band, but I’m they’re just not my thing.
29:01-29:02
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
29:02-29:05
Another one of that everybody has their own taste styles and all that.
29:05-29:16
So by the way, speaking of taste, one of the guys, I was drinking a red bull here, trying to keep the hype going for the show, you know.
29:16-29:22
And apparently he told me that to hear about ghost, which is, I guess, a brand that a lot of people like here.
29:22-29:23
A lot of them.
29:23-29:25
I know my kids like it too.
29:25-29:31
But they’ve announced that the energy drink brand is going to be changing things up.
29:31-29:41
They will no longer be carrying sour patch kids or sweetest fish, which are the two flavors that I liked that I would from time to time drink.
29:41-29:48
They’re also not going to be carrying Oreo chips, ahoy or nut butter in any of their cans or in their protein.
29:48-29:56
They said they have they’re all they’re going to miss the flavors, but they have a lot more coming down on the line and a lot more great things are going to be happening.
29:56-30:02
You continue to buy them until they are at a stock and that is the powder in the can.
30:02-30:10
So I wasn’t like a big lot of people were drinking the Swedish double zero sugar.
30:10-30:12
That’s why a lot of people were drinking the warheads.
30:12-30:17
Well, warheads still going to be around, I think the Swedish fish isn’t going to be around.
30:17-30:20
I’m talking to somebody in my office.
30:20-30:26
Yeah, Swedish fish isn’t going to be around and neither is the sour patch kids, but the warheads are still going to be around.
30:26-30:27
They didn’t say to disconnect this.
30:27-30:28
Just doing that one.
30:28-30:29
That was really good.
30:29-30:30
I like that one.
30:30-30:38
And the one the the firecracker looking ice pop thing the 4th of July, that’s still staying around.
30:38-30:41
And the sour pink lemonade is not going away.
30:41-30:44
So they’re still got a lot of good flavors, but they’re getting I guess that those are too big.
30:44-30:52
I don’t know why they get rid of two big sellers unless maybe they lost the licensing or the deal or whatever with the company that makes sour patch kids and all that stuff.
30:52-30:55
That’s very, very possible.
30:55-30:56
That’s very possible.
30:56-30:57
I don’t know.
30:57-31:02
But like I said, fortunately, if you like that stuff, go ahead and get it now before it’s discontinued.
31:02-31:04
This you can have one last drink of it.
31:04-31:07
I was the same way with those monster hydrations.
31:07-31:11
I’m not a big fan of Monster Energy, but I do like Monster Hydro.
31:11-31:15
If you remember, it was the official drink of the UFC for a while.
31:15-31:16
I really liked it.
31:16-31:18
I thought it had a good taste, good flavor.
31:18-31:19
Wasn’t too sweet.
31:19-31:26
Wasn’t super energy like a key via a little bump, but it wasn’t like a ton of caffeine.
31:26-31:28
It was mostly vitamin B and stuff of that.
31:28-31:37
But they stopped making it after a couple of years and once I guess UFC, well, UFC dropped them and then they just stopped making it all together.
31:37-31:39
I guess maybe that was their biggest client.
31:39-31:40
I don’t know.
31:40-31:42
But either way, they stopped making it.
31:42-31:47
I was able to get those for about a year through the dollar store.
31:47-31:52
They were still carrying them, but apparently now they’re all gone, probably the stock’s empty.
31:52-31:57
But I know what it’s like when you find something you like drinking and you can’t get any more.
31:57-31:58
It kind of stinks.
31:58-32:01
By the way, I want to bring up a couple of things.
32:01-32:09
One other thing, we were talking about entertainment before and I wanted to bring this up because it was kind of interesting to me.
32:09-32:14
Kelly Cuoco has that series on Peacock.
32:14-32:23
That’s a Peacock exclusive that it’s about, I guess it’s a true crime show where she goes and just like that, the, I’m not just like that.
32:23-32:24
I’m sorry.
32:24-32:25
The, what’s it called?
32:25-32:27
Help me here.
32:27-32:29
We have, I forget the name of it.
32:29-32:30
It’s on Peacock.
32:30-32:34
But anyway, the show which ran for two seasons.
32:34-32:36
I really liked it.
32:36-32:40
Apparently, based on a true story was the name of the series.
32:40-32:42
Thank you for telling me that.
32:42-32:46
Apparently it’s just getting canceled on her.
32:46-32:50
They said the ratings were good on it, but apparently Peacock is canceling it.
32:50-32:52
My wife and I really enjoyed that show.
32:52-32:57
It’s a shame to see it go, but unfortunately it is going, they canceled it.
32:57-33:00
Suits got canceled with Steven Amell.
33:00-33:02
That was one that got canceled.
33:02-33:05
Actually a lot of, actually this week was the week of cancel.
33:05-33:12
Everybody announced there, a lot of cancellations of shows that we all like.
33:12-33:18
It stinks, but unfortunately that is, you know, the way it is in the television and streaming business.
33:18-33:20
So it kind of stinks.
33:20-33:22
But like I said, they have canceled a bunch of good shows.
33:22-33:28
Also too, by the way, Maya, I don’t want to say, because kind of Maya, it was big for its time.
33:28-33:34
But on Monday, the fifth, Microsoft turned off the servers for Skype.
33:34-33:35
No more Skype.
33:35-33:40
I know some people are going to say people were still using that and others of you are going to be like, yeah, it stinks.
33:40-33:50
But, you know, Microsoft, it’s kind of funny because Microsoft, while they’re getting rid of Skype, they’re getting rid of it.
33:50-33:57
But they’re still using most of the Skype codecs and stuff for their Teams product.
33:57-34:02
So you can actually have a consumer version of Teams they released too on the fifth.
34:02-34:07
So if you liked Skype and you still want to keep using it, there is a Teams version.
34:07-34:09
It is free, still like Skype.
34:09-34:11
But you can’t get the phone number with it.
34:11-34:13
I don’t know if this can happen with that.
34:13-34:15
But anyway, Skype shut down after 22 years.
34:15-34:19
It’s kind of a big story because I used Skype quite a bit when I was in college.
34:19-34:25
And after college, a little bit, we would do a lot of meetings and stuff over Skype, even before it had a business end of it.
34:25-34:31
I remember when Microsoft bought it, that was a big acquisition, especially during the time of the recession.
34:31-34:34
So it’s kind of sad to see it go.
34:34-34:39
We actually, I’m one of the other podcast network I worked on.
34:39-34:47
We actually use Skype with Mac Minis and we had a Skype-Pasaurus thing that you could create.
34:47-34:50
It was kind of hacked together, but it was pretty cool for that time.
34:50-34:53
And at the time, it was neat to be able to bring guests in with video.
34:53-34:57
That was really revolutionary for its time, especially at a time of radio.
34:57-35:01
And no video was pretty dominant.
35:01-35:04
All right, Ice9Killers.
35:04-35:12
I am heading out for the day, ladies and gentlemen, but I want to thank you for joining me here on the Saturday shit show.
