Also too wanted to talk about a bunch of things going on in tech news. First of all,

Halo the new Halo series on Paramount Plus really off to a really good start they’re saying that

they kind of hit the reset button this season but so far the show is doing pretty darn good so

I’m glad to hear that I really like it. I know Howard Stern and a bunch of people have been talking

about it on the air and things like that so like I said really is a good show so check that out if

you have Paramount Plus. Also too surprisingly enough a lot of people don’t know this but you

actually do get Paramount Plus along with Walmart Plus if you have it so don’t spend twice if you

have it you know you get it with your Walmart Plus subscription. Microsoft also saying they’re going

to be making a Gears of War show kind of interesting to think about that Gears of War another big game

of theirs I’m wondering if that’s the plan I’m wondering if Microsoft may eventually even make

an Age of Empires game we’ll have to wait and see what happens with that they are really making a

lot of their big game franchises into you know series so that you know it’s advertising for them

it’s money for them and all that so something very interesting news coming out today that Apple

may be looking into making a ring the Apple Ring they’ve always been in the watch industry

again I could actually picture them possibly doing a ring it would make sense some people my

wife included went with the ORE ring and stuff like that they are not watch people and it would

just make sense that Apple would make a ring so you have a choice of the watch the ring you know

we have a choice now wired and unwired headphones it just makes sense that Apple would do that

it’s hardware product so it just makes sense that they would get into that so that was a news like

I said that they are going to be looking into creating a ring also too it’s important to note

as well that Apple still fighting with the with that patent if you buy an Apple Watch Ultra 2 or

if you go ahead and buy I think it’s a series series nine you don’t get the heart monitor with it

which is a bit concerning I believe the O2 monitor too so two two big features that you don’t get I
03:16-03:21
do believe that it’s one of the it’s what I believe I do believe it’s the O2 sensor I do think but

I also read somewhere too that might be an issue with heart monitor coming up so we’ll have to

wait and see but Apple’s still dealing with that again they’re not removing them from the watch

they’re just disabling them they said they’re not paying a patent and so we’ll have to wait and see

what happens with that going forward so Adobe announced that they will be adding a code we

adding chat well AI to their existing Adobe products not really a shock really so many things are

adding AI nowadays not really a shocker that they would do that so you know news but then of

course co-pilot Microsoft brand with their their they own I think 49% of chat GPT they’re building

that it’s pretty much everything that they have which is good news you know Microsoft has the

the business where they could possibly make money with that you know they have you know office they
04:18-04:24
have all their their windows they have all these business blind products which is where that that’s
04:24-04:30
really going to shine Google I think is going to have a good run with the two because they have
04:30-04:35
their workspace products where they can see people wanting to use that for workspace and stuff like
04:35-04:42
that so I could see that the one place I don’t see chat GPT really taking off is really going to be in
04:42-04:49
that space where Alexa sorry if I said it myself madame will call it I just don’t see the consume
04:49-04:55
that’s more of a consumer play where Google workspace and Microsoft Office are much more of a
04:55-05:01
business product where that’s going to be much I think I think really going to see that’s going
05:01-05:07
to be a real tough market for Amazon because I don’t see the home user the the you know the
05:07-05:13
the average person spending $20 a month for more Alexa skills I mean the thing’s still going to
05:13-05:18
turn your lights on off it’s still going to run your vacuum cleaner to rumba and all that so I don’t
05:18-05:25
really see why people would do that in the in that particular space but we’ll have to wait and see I
05:25-05:32
don’t see any consumer products being a big thing with it but you never know might be a I don’t think
05:32-05:36
so with the Alexa but you never know but I do see Google and Microsoft making big money with that
05:36-05:41
and obviously too a lot of people that myself included it said what would have been funny is
05:41-05:47
with this whole thing with the new Halo series that they would have decided to take chat GPT and
05:47-05:52
call it Cortana I don’t think they’ll ever read you know bring that brand back to life
05:52-05:58
but that would have been kind of funny to see if them bring that back and obviously the one that
05:58-06:05
really has really no market share is of course my Apple Siri they say they’re going to be putting AI
06:05-06:11
this year into Siri we’ll have to wait and see how that goes I’d be curious to see watch and
06:11-06:18
kind of see where that is headed over the next couple of years to see if I know Apple does all
06:18-06:24
the processing and stuff on the phone for Siri for security reasons I’m curious to see where they
06:24-06:31
are going to be headed with that so that’s something to really watch for Microsoft announcing this week

as well for those of you that are game pass fans that they’re going to be bringing all the
06:35-06:42
Activision games to to game pass so that’ll be something for everybody and let’s not of course

forget we’re just talking about paramount paramount and peacock in talk to merge I’d be curious to

see what happens with that both of them have their own little uniqueness to them paramount obviously

has a lot of good original shows peacock does as well peacock obviously has wwe and sports and

things of that nature where we’re paramount did have the Super Bowl but they really really struggled

with that they kept having outages and things like that so I’m curious to see where that’s what

they’re going to do and what the future of that holds for those two I think a merger would be

beneficial to both companies definitely would would help I’d be curious to see what’s going to happen

with that also to apple talking about apple they released a new sports app this week

pretty popular but nobody really saw coming that was one that kind of was a shocker to a lot of

people they are saying no that you won’t see the sports like you won’t see mlb and stuff like that

on there as the seasons keep going they’ll start rolling out every season so that’s neat to say

like so we won’t see the nfl on there until next season or major league baseball for another few

more months so but like I said they rolled apple rolled out the new app a lot of people myself

included didn’t know that that was happening so that was pretty neat they may have to keep that one

a secret news people still waiting a lot of people myself included waiting to hear about what is

going to happen with vision pro lots of people saying that there are a ton of vision pros got

returned apple doesn’t release numbers like that unfortunately but it would be very neat to to see

if apple what what kind of where they’re going what they’re going to do with it and how many

returns they got I’m sure a lot of people kept them but I’m sure there’s quite a bit of returns at

almost uh 3500 almost four grand about a time you buy the apple care and all that I’m sure a lot of

people used it tried it and then returned it obviously mark zuccomberg this week was on instagram
08:44-08:52
talking about how uh you know that the quest is much more advanced um and and and maybe it is but

again this is a version one of the vision pro so we will have to see what’s exactly is going to be

in version two they’re actually saying version two might be out as soon as next year so we’ll have to

see I’m very shocked if apple put out a version two that quickly but it’s possible you never know

we will have to uh kind of have to see and and and kind of where they’re at with that I know there

are also a lot of people saying where are the new air pods pros um they’ve been you know apples had

this lossless audio and really none of their headphones can support it because you need to wire

it had wired cables so we’ll see like I said where that goes as well um Spotify another thing too

they were talking about Spotify it’s been three years ready and still no hi-fi audio and the other

thing that’s interesting is that Tridal which is owned by Jack Dorsey along with squares for that

that’s another service that just keeps chugging along their big hook is the high the lossless audio

and they’re still doing okay I think right now as long as Spotify continues to not release

their hi-fi app I think they’re going to do just fine so we’ll have to see where where we’re at with

that going forward like I said a lot of like I said a bunch of big news going on apparently

there’s a big push going right now for the the new age of empires games those are really big there’s

a Microsoft original games first-party studios they call them but the age of empire is supposed

to be coming out the mobile version from what I heard this is all related to them being purchased

for Microsoft apparently purchased um Activision Blizzard for their mobile game platform
10:42-10:46
and they’re saying Age of Empires is going to be one of the first ones out the door from
10:46-10:53
Microsoft for this so we will have to see what happens with that uh Google has to hit pause by
10:53-10:59
the way on their Gemini remember they had Bard now it’s called Gemini they had to go ahead and

push the pause on that apparently they’re having issues with the imaging uh so they’re they’re
11:04-11:11
pushing so Gemini still works but the image part um is still kind of in a situation so they
11:11-11:19
push the pause on that but uh like I said Gemini is still out there uh Microsoft put starts pushing
11:19-11:25
Windows 11 version 23H2 uh some more devices that was in the news so if you do have a Microsoft if
11:25-11:30
you ever you if you are running Windows she’s hate when you get tongue tied in the air uh if you are
11:30-11:36
running Windows go ahead and uh see what version you’re on you maybe if your own Windows 11 you
11:36-11:44
may be due for an upgrade uh Google is going to be replacing the Google Pay app with Google Wallet
11:44-11:48
we all know kind of Apple Wallet and stuff like that I’m wondering if this is Google’s way of
11:48-11:52
changing they still have Google they they changed their name to Google Pay a while back now they’re
11:52-11:57
changing it to Google Wallet I’m wondering if this is the way that they’re trying to kind of make it
11:58-12:04
so that uh you know there’s I don’t know how to say they’re trying to line their branding up with
12:04-12:14
apples um so they don’t get left behind so I think that’s uh part of it uh obviously AT&T uh big
12:14-12:20
outage this week uh they still have not released yet when we’re recording this so they still have
12:20-12:28
not uh released why or actually even that happened I’m sure they will eventually but they have not
12:28-12:37
released why yet as recording this but I’m sure they will soon but uh yeah AT&T big uh outage uh

Microsoft actually came out and said Phil Spencer the guy that’s in charge of Xbox came out today too

in the news said that uh Microsoft excuse me won’t be abandoning physical disks anytime soon

find that a little hard to believe personally um I have a feeling that Microsoft wants to abandon
12:55-13:00
Nickelwall digital they want to put pieces like GameStop and and people like that selling the
13:00-13:06
games or Walmart and some of that um you know Target places like that itself media uh they
13:06-13:10
want to do it and they want to make all the money and that’s this is them taking away the CD uh as a
13:10-13:15
way of uh Microsoft making the money because you have to uh you have to buy it through their store
13:15-13:20
but uh they have announced that Epic and a bunch of those stores can’t are coming to Xbox so
13:20-13:25
I’m sure Microsoft will take a cut of those sales just like Apple does a lot of people
13:25-13:31
remember a lot of people forget though that that 30 percent 33 percent that Apple charges was originally
13:31-13:36
Microsoft’s been doing on the Xbox forever and that’s kind of where that that percentage came
13:36-13:42
from when Apple started the App Store that’s how long ago that is but obviously but I’m curious
13:42-13:47
to see what uh if you have your own store what Microsoft exactly is going to take they haven’t
13:47-13:52
really announced it yet but uh I do want to point out a lot of people forget that that 33 percent
13:52-13:58
came from uh the Xbox that was something that Microsoft did and Apple followed suit now obviously
13:58-14:03
Apple makes a lot more money on their App Store than Microsoft does in the Game Store now but
14:03-14:09
a lot of people forget that and obviously Apple has also adjusted over time with different
14:09-14:16
policy and stuff like that um so other other things that I think are interesting see if Thieves and
14:17-14:21
you know High Five Rush and a lot of those uh some of the Microsoft smaller original titles
14:21-14:26
are going to be heading to Nintendo and other platforms uh I think this is part of that home
14:26-14:31
Microsoft strategy Phil Spencer keeps talking about uh you know put Xbox everywhere put Xbox games
14:31-14:36
everywhere uh all that stuff that’s I believe this is all part of his his plan and that’s why
14:36-14:42
they are they’re doing that so like I said I’m sure we’re going to see more games come I’d be very
14:42-14:46
curious I mean they said I mean they did say in their recent post that they are not giving up on
14:46-14:52
originals so um and exclusives so I’m curious to see I’ll be wondering if for a bunch of years
14:52-14:58
talking about Halo on the on um on PlayStation um I don’t a lot of people have been saying well maybe
14:58-15:02
they’ll bring Xbox Game Pass over to Sony I don’t think that will ever happen only because uh Sony
15:02-15:09
would lose money then that way so I don’t think that’s going to happen is it possible yes but I
15:09-15:14
I don’t think it is I could see Microsoft creating like um xCloud app or something like that for Sony
15:14-15:20
or Nintendo but I don’t picture Xbox Game Pass coming there unless it’s all via the cloud so
15:20-15:26
I just don’t see because they would live Sony would lose so much money but we’ll have to see
15:26-15:32
there’s still time for that uh Reddit obviously going public fairly soon here I believe Discord is
15:32-15:38
going to be going public as well soon but uh they are apparently going to be offering some of their
15:38-15:42
IPO stuff to uh some of their moderators who have really helped over the years I think that’d be
15:42-15:48
nice thing for them to do but we’ll have to I don’t know how I think it’s 75,000 shares they said
15:48-15:52
which isn’t a lot but for moderators that have been doing a lot of work for free for them that
15:52-15:57
should be getting paid especially on some of their more popular forums I think that would only be fair
15:57-16:01
and I think it’s really nice of Reddit to go ahead and offer that because those people do a
16:01-16:07
lot of work for very little if none money so community driven is very tough thing

uh YouTube still dominating the TV streaming they’re saying that they might become one of the
16:14-16:20
biggest uh if if they aren’t yet they will be the biggest uh character of television
16:20-16:29
bringing the television into the next you know next next stage I don’t I don’t think cable is
16:29-16:34
going to hang out I think cable is going to hang out for a while anyway just because of sports
16:35-16:40
you know linear cable is you know on its way out everybody’s saying that Fox News is every all the
16:40-16:47
cable news channels and and all the other people are saying that but um you know this is a way of
16:47-16:51
them start kind of keeping things alive uh some of the way they are still keeping things alive
16:51-16:56
obviously certain sports are only available on certain channels not so much with baseball and
16:56-17:01
hockey but with basketball obviously NBA playoffs are owned by T I think it’s TBS or TNT
17:02-17:06
obviously football is still got the local markets and stuff so
17:06-17:11
curious to see what will happen over time but event it seems like YouTube TV is going to be the
17:11-17:16
thing that brings them in but unfortunately YouTube TV has gotten more and more expensive

remember at the beginning it was 35 bucks now it’s up to 75 80 so it’s the same kind of the same
17:22-17:27
thing as as the only thing is that YouTube TV it’s all or nothing we’re on cable right now you
17:27-17:31
could pick and choose what you want YouTube doesn’t have that that might be something that may be
17:31-17:35
coming in the future but I don’t know we’ll have to wait and see but that I believe that is something
17:35-17:40
where eventually YouTube might offer where okay you want TNT that they might start with the bundle
17:40-17:45
packages I think what they get more stations they might do that but we’ll have to see and then you
17:45-17:50
have other stations that like access and stuff like that their shows are on their network but
17:50-17:56
they’re also available on YouTube there’s some weird setups there but I’m sure we’ll eventually
17:56-18:03
all get ironed out but that’s a little bit weird Walmart to acquire a TV smart figure a smart maker

Vizio for 2.3 billion I think Vizio still makes Vizio makes um I think they make computers I’m not
18:13-18:19
sure if they’re if that is part of this or not it wasn’t said in the release but we’ll have to wait
18:19-18:24
and see but I kind of make sense but Walmart does sell more of those TVs and anything I just hope
18:24-18:30
the quality doesn’t go down with them buying them so we’ll have to wait we’ll have to really see
18:30-18:35
those reviews will come out because that’ll be a year or two before we see you know the first TV

you know made by Walmart I guess you could say but um I just uh just hope that they don’t

the quality doesn’t go down because they’re actually pretty decent TVs for the price

Microsoft announces that publisher is going to be retired in 2026

actually fairly big news with this believe it or not from the education sector I guess a lot
18:56-19:03
of education uses publisher because publisher does come with Office 365 however a lot of those
19:03-19:07
Microsoft says they’re one of the reasons they’re getting rid of publisher is they’re rolling these
19:07-19:13
features into other products so that’s why they’re getting rid of it I’m curious to see when they
19:13-19:17
threatened to get rid of paint so many people got upset that they brought it back same thing with notepad
19:19-19:25
so I’m curious to see if enough people revolt if they will just leave publisher in 365 wait and say
19:25-19:32
I know specifically if you remember I believe it was I believe it was a while back that people
19:32-19:38
actually were so upset about the like I said we had paint notepad and that they actually decided to
19:38-19:43
do it I’m wondering if people I don’t see anybody revolting over works Microsoft works mainly that
19:43-19:49
stuff or or wordpad or any of those things but uh publisher I can see being an issue notepad I can
19:49-19:53
see being an issue paint I can see those things are pretty pretty widely used compared to wordpad
19:53-19:59
and briefcase I remember Microsoft briefcase that was another one that was pretty big for a while

so Nintendo is saying that the switch 2 will launch in 2025 that wasn’t no no news yet but

they’re saying another switch will switches is by far their biggest console so I’m not doesn’t
20:14-20:19
surprise me they’re going to keep going with that you know they have I mean it is the largest selling
20:19-20:26
console that Nintendo has ever done so good for them let’s see what else we have here in the news

Apple by the way for those of you that don’t know hit with a big half a billion I’m sorry you have a
20:32-20:40
billion euros due to their anti-competitive practices on Spotify Spotify you know has a
20:40-20:48
very good point that you know it’s the way Apple handles the you know handles music is anti-competitive
20:48-20:54
and you know if you type the word Spotify in uh into your the app store first one comes up as
20:54-20:58
Apple music still even though it’s an ad which Apple’s not going to pay for ads in their own
20:58-21:03
platform even though it’s still an ad it’s still there along with Spotify so uh it’s one of those
21:03-21:09
things where it is anti-competitive a lot of the things that Apple is doing is anti-competitive I
21:09-21:14
think and this is the thing that Microsoft got burned for in the 90s using their dominance and
21:14-21:19
the power of default and stuff like that Apple so far been able to skate around it but this is the
21:19-21:24
first time they really got hit hard with it so I’m wondering what Apple’s Apple’s gonna backpedal
21:24-21:29
or they’ve maybe gotten enough customers that it’s worth that fine they haven’t said they probably
21:29-21:34
won’t but I thought that was actually pretty big news Apple getting their hands slapped we all remember
21:34-21:40
the new iPhone 15 obviously is USB-C now because of everything with the EU so
21:40-21:49
like I said interesting thing going on there like I said the Apple has announced they’re doing a 3D
21:49-21:56
video they actually are doing 3D video camera spots for certain shows they did it they announced
21:56-22:00
they did it during the NBA slam dunk contest but now they announced they are gonna do it
22:00-22:05
during other sporting events so I’m wondering if they’re seeing a market for vision pro maybe in
22:05-22:10
the sporting market I don’t know but it’s just interesting they are doing it especially at a
22:10-22:17
lot of these sporting events so that I thought that was rather interesting also too Epic Game Store
22:17-22:21
is coming to the iPhone but there’s kind of a gotcha with this that a lot of people don’t know
22:21-22:28
about it is only coming in Europe where Apple Microsoft’s Game Store is also going to be coming
22:29-22:34
but it’s only going to be in Europe so kind of interesting thing you know Apple you know they
22:34-22:37
lose over there they’ll do it over there but over here they they don’t want to do that and
22:37-22:41
part of that is Apple has a bigger market share over here than over in Europe so
22:41-22:48
that’s why Apple really does protect the the market they have over here you know they don’t
22:48-22:53
that they’re losing Europe but specifically they always look to protect this market especially
22:53-22:59
over Europe because they are a much bigger player over here in Europe Android does dominate a lot
22:59-23:04
more and there’s nothing wrong with that just the way it is but in America they’re very dominant so
23:04-23:08
they they try to especially over here to try to you know make sure that they you know protect this
23:08-23:17
market so that’s like I said an interesting thing also too Microsoft made an announcement that they
23:17-23:23
are working on something not sure when or how it’s going to be rolled out but Microsoft has said
23:23-23:31
that you will be any games you buy will be available somehow on the cloud streaming service
23:31-23:37
so they are going to do that I know GeForce now it’s over that you have to buy the games to be able
23:37-23:42
to play them on on GeForce now but Microsoft’s always been one of those things were up if you have
23:42-23:46
it now they’re saying if you have you bought it already you’re going to be able to play it on
23:46-23:53
their streaming service so I thought that was pretty interesting Microsoft by the way they’re
23:53-24:00
going to be unifying teams and and all that apparently fairly soon so we’ll have to see I
24:00-24:03
know a lot of people probably listen don’t use teams but own business a lot of people use it but
24:03-24:10
they’re going to finally be merging their their teams that’s on the desktop and and all that
24:10-24:13
with their others so they’ve got like five or six persons of teams and it’s really confusing
24:13-24:19
I find myself even being somebody who is an avid tech user struggling at times with it because
24:19-24:24
it’s just one of those things where it’s like I just don’t get why it’s you know why this team
24:24-24:28
for this team version and then obviously you still have Skype out there which a lot of people use
24:28-24:33
that is still a brand that Microsoft’s not allowed to it must be making money because
24:33-24:39
Microsoft’s still hanging on to it still keeping it going but they’re pushing teams but Skype still
24:39-24:48
stays out there strong so it’s interesting some other news as well the FCC is looking into
24:48-24:55
the branding car he created the Apple beeper program which is where you can receive iMessages
24:55-25:02
on Android and then Apple found out about it blocked it and killed the app they really don’t
25:02-25:09
want anybody mess on Android using iMessage that is one thing I mean Apple was for a long time
25:09-25:14
working on an iMessage for Android and they decided to ditch it because they felt that if they did
25:14-25:21
that they would lose Apple customers so apparently but somebody created a high school kid actually
25:21-25:24
figured out a way I mean this kid will probably have a job anywhere if he wants
25:24-25:31
actually reverse engineered iMessage so that people can actually use iMessage on the Android
25:31-25:37
and Apple immediately shut found you know found out about it and shut it down and I guess the
25:37-25:42
FCC is complaining about it as to why Apple would shut it down I guess Apple saying it’s
25:42-25:47
security reason but I think and it may be it is but I think the bigger issue is Apple does not want
25:47-25:54
their customers using iMessage on an Android and leaving the Apple ecosystem it’s the same way
25:54-26:00
that the Apple Watch does not work with Android they could very easily put the health kit on
26:00-26:05
Android but they never will because they then that would prevent people people stay with the
26:05-26:09
iPhone because they like the Apple Watch I mean that’s kind of where they get you you get the watch
26:09-26:13
you get the phone then you get the watch you get the headphones now you’re locked in the headphones
26:13-26:17
won’t work because it just blew through the headphones but the watch doesn’t work and all that
26:17-26:21
same reason why for the longest time or Apple Watch wouldn’t work with an iPad because they wanted
26:21-26:25
you to buy the phone because they have a bigger margin on phones at least that’s what they say
26:25-26:32
anyway so a lot of things like I said really coming out with that very curious to see what
26:32-26:37
that happens with the iMessage thing there are other open source things that happen there was
26:37-26:42
an open source product for years where you had an Apple desktop you could forward your messages
26:42-26:48
to your Android phone that’s open source I think it’s called Air Message that’s not the most secure
26:48-26:52
way to do it but I know there is one that but I know that was one of the people using for a while
26:52-26:58
there was another one you can buy for Air Focus where they would they probably had a
26:58-27:01
