01:44-01:53
Like I said, a lot to talk about. A lot of music lined up for tonight, but let’s kick it off with one of my favorite bands, their new one, Disturbed.
01:53-01:59
I will not break here on Helix Rock Radio.
01:59-02:09
Alright, three days grace.
02:09-02:16
I saw them with a straight line stitch many, many years ago.
02:16-02:22
They’re wonderful. I always like them. A lot of people don’t, but I really do.
02:22-02:26
So I want to say happy Passover.
02:26-02:32
Passover obviously happening right now. I believe it’s tonight.
02:32-02:37
And then next week, of course, we have Easter weekend.
02:37-02:46
Holidays. Well, you know, to me, Easter is always like the official start of spring.
02:46-02:52
It just always is everybody’s taking pictures with their baby chicks and a bunch.
02:52-02:55
You know, everybody’s wearing, you know, bright colors, stuff like that.
02:55-03:04
It’s the official start of spring. However, I am looking out the window here in my studio and I am looking at snow.
03:04-03:10
Yes, you heard me right. We had snow here up in Northeast Pennsylvania.
03:10-03:16
Snow. Yeah. Why am I cleaning snow off my car in the middle of April?
03:16-03:25
I don’t know, folks. I mean, April showers bring May flowers, but snow does not.
03:25-03:30
Actually, because some of the trees are actually in bloom up here,
03:30-03:36
a lot of trees are down from the weight of the snow on the branches and stuff like that.
03:36-03:43
It’s pretty crazy, man. I got to tell you, I haven’t seen it snow like this in April in a while.
03:43-03:51
Nothing like this where it actually piles up and actually mounts to something.
03:51-03:59
Like I literally had to get the snow shovel out of the garage today and clean off my porch and throw some salt town for the mailman.
03:59-04:04
Unbelievable weather we’re having here in Northeast Pennsylvania.
04:04-04:08
Kicking it off now with a new one from Evanescence Afterlife.
04:08-04:18
That is unearthed and they unearthed and they will be on tour with Likuna Coil.
04:18-04:25
I believe that was Likuna Coil. I believe is what I was reading. Yes, it is Likuna Coil.
04:25-04:30
So that will be really, really cool to see.
04:30-04:33
So some things to talk about.
04:33-04:37
I wanted to bring up Triple H on the Tonight Show.
04:37-04:41
If you didn’t see it, go ahead and check out the YouTube clip.
04:41-04:46
Definitely, we all know Fallon’s a wrestling fan,
04:46-04:53
but he made sure to point out that Triple H, while he’s going in the Hall of Fame this year,
04:53-05:00
definitely had his beginning as rocky as any rookie does.
05:00-05:03
First of all, being terror rising.
05:03-05:09
And then of course, he was John Paul, the Frenchman.
05:09-05:12
I remember that as well.
05:12-05:17
Definitely had a different look, different hairstyle, all that.
05:17-05:22
And you know, Triple H took it with a grain of salt. It was pretty funny.
05:22-05:28
But go ahead and check that clip out. It was a lot of fun to see Triple H, you know,
05:28-05:32
back when he was with WCW in the early days.
05:32-05:39
Of course, Triple H, of course, at the beginning was Hunter Hearst Helmsley, the blue blood.
05:39-05:46
And if you remember, he would finish you off with a pedigree, which obviously was his finisher,
05:46-05:54
but it was a totally different character. It wasn’t the Triple H we all knew from DX and the Attitude Era.
05:54-05:59
It was the French blue blood or the British blue blood.
05:59-06:03
It was a different character. So check that out.
06:03-06:13
It is definitely worth the watch, just to see him get kind of joked on by Fallon.
06:13-06:25
Also, too, in the wrestling world, Joe Henry over in TNA wrestling, rotor cuff injury.
06:25-06:33
Apparently, according to what he said on TNA the other night, he is staying.
06:33-06:40
He’s not leaving. He’s going to stay with TNA and work through the injury.
06:40-06:43
I don’t know how that’s going to work.
06:43-06:49
I mean, Ed, they’ve done it with like WD with Edge when he had his jaw issue and stuff like that.
06:49-06:53
I’m curious to see what they’re going to do with Joe Henry.
06:53-07:05
So what I find interesting about TNA is they have kind of like a special event next week, which is also WrestleMania.
07:05-07:16
But WrestleMania is Saturday and Sunday, so they have an event the Friday before.
07:16-07:23
But then it’s so weird because the following week they have an actual pay per view.
07:23-07:27
TNA has a pay per view. It’s very, very weird.
07:27-07:31
I don’t know if I really agree with the booking.
07:31-07:35
I mean, maybe they’re just trying to kind of get in there.
07:35-07:45
It’s not unusual. I know a bunch of, for instance, specifically, and I think you think TNA is going to be in Vegas.
07:45-07:52
I know other companies have done this when when WWE was down in East Ruddford, New Jersey,
07:52-07:55
literally down the street is the Garden.
07:55-08:03
And I think Ring of Honor ran a show there during WrestleMania, not during, but the night before, the night after.
08:03-08:12
A lot of companies do this now to kind of get some of the hype and some of the fans and the exposure from WrestleMania weekend.
08:12-08:17
In this current landscape of wrestling, it’s not unusual. I don’t think WWE really cares anymore.
08:17-08:21
But like I said, it’s it’s interesting what they’re doing.
08:21-08:28
Like I said, they are bringing back for the pay per view TNA pay per view barbed wire massacre.
08:28-08:35
They’re bringing back ultimate X whoever’s doing the booking there is is has been doing a good job.
08:35-08:47
I honestly purposely jump on YouTube the Thursday after to to watch impact because it’s been TNA has been very hot.
08:47-08:53
I enjoy it. And like I said, their pay per views have been pretty good.
08:53-09:12
You know, they’re putting on quality matches and stuff that people want to see that you don’t see on WWE, which is the whole reason why TNA got a hold of some of the market share back in the day because they were the alternative to WWE.
09:12-09:17
So I really think whoever’s doing the booking there is really doing a great job.
09:17-09:25
And it’s been a lot of fun as a wrestling fan. Obviously next week, WrestleMania big weekend there.
09:25-09:34
You know, a lot of matches already booked Cody Rose and Cena obviously the main event on the second night.
09:34-09:46
I don’t believe yet that WWE has released the match set list yet for the first and second night.
09:46-09:54
We know the main event for the second night. I’m not too sure about the matches for the first night.
09:54-09:58
I don’t think they’ve released them speculation. What’s going to be the match?
09:58-10:06
I mean, we know the first night is going to set the table for the second night. It’s happened the last couple of years.
10:06-10:10
I’m sure they’ll have some big matches on the card for the first night.
10:10-10:15
And of course, your second night is your home run swing as it always is.
10:15-10:23
So it’s definitely really, really cool. AEW Dynamite had a big thing.
10:23-10:31
That dynamite AEW had a big paper view women this past week as well. Really cool. Really great event.
10:31-10:40
Great time to be a wrestling fan kicking it off now Manson. That’s one of my favorite Ozzy songs. It really is.
10:40-10:46
So what we’ve talked about wrestling. Let’s talk about TV a little bit.
10:46-10:57
Kind of interesting. I did not expect this. Apparently, Jeopardy has taken the number one spot in the ratings right now.
10:57-11:05
Jeopardy’s number one followed by Wheel of Fortune and then followed by Family Feud at number three.
11:05-11:11
I thought Family Feud would be a little bit higher. I really did. I was kind of surprised as it’s number three.
11:11-11:26
Apparently from this article on entertainment today, apparently Jeopardy Wheel of Fortune took the number one spot when it saw ratings bump from new host Ryan Seacrest.
11:26-11:35
However, Jeopardy with Ken Jennings has taken the number one spot back. So good for them.
11:35-11:45
I will say, Ken Jennings, I really feel he’s a host that really deserves it. I mean, he is the Jeopardy guy.
11:45-12:03
Those of us that grew up during that time, he was on for six months. I think he was on for what? Like 74 shows or something like that.
12:03-12:09
It was like the longest streak. I think the closest is somebody a couple of years ago came to like 40 days.
12:09-12:18
But he, it was like six months of Jeopardy time. I mean, it was just so cool. And now he’s the host.
12:18-12:27
Obviously, nobody can replace the great Alex Trebek. But if you were going to pick somebody to take over, he is the Jeopardy guy.
12:27-12:42
When he was on, I remember as a kid, he was on the late night shows and stuff like that. I mean, it literally boosted Jeopardy’s ratings for quite some time just because everybody was wondering when this guy is going to get kicked off.
12:42-12:52
I mean, it went on for months. And back then, you know, the internet wasn’t like it is now. So you really didn’t know. And they kept pretty tight lipped about it.
12:52-13:04
And you know, when he was going to get kicked off, it was insane. He actually ended his season and then they went on like a six weeks hiatus and they came back from the hiatus and he was still there.
13:04-13:21
I mean, it was like this guy’s never going to get kicked off. The other thing too, people don’t realize they actually changed the rules because when I was a young kid in the 90s, you could always stay on for like five full days and then they would kick you off.
13:21-13:38
A bunch of years, I think it was the early 2000s is when they changed the rules and you could stay on until you lost. And that would let some of these guys him and a bunch of other people having like these 40 day, 23 day streaks.
13:38-13:52
It’s actually, like I said, pretty cool. I’m curious to see, I mean, Jeopardy! So iconic. I’m curious to see if anybody would will beat his streak.
13:52-14:18
You know, over the course of his tenure as host, we’ll have to see. And he actually talks about that. He actually, the celebrity Jeopardy! is a little bit different that they purposely make the questions a little bit easier since it’s for charity, where the actual syndicated show, you know, the one that’s on it, like, I think it’s like six, seven o’clock.
14:18-14:36
That’s actually those contestants that the questions are designed very hard for those particular people. It’s really cool. There’s a whole thing on YouTube talking about where he kind of gives behind the scenes, like a 45 minute watch, but it definitely is worth watching, especially if you’re a fan of Jeopardy!
14:36-14:54
I always like that stuff, that trivial pursuit, all those kind of like trivia things, you know. And the reason why, and I hate to harp on this, but one of the things that surprised me about Jeopardy! is that it is number one.
14:54-15:12
I would have thought that a game that is a little bit easier to play for people that aren’t like quiz people like me, I would have thought Wheel of Fortune or Family Feud would have been would have been a little bit higher. I was kind of shocked to see Jeopardy! is number one.
15:12-15:22
But I think Jeopardy! has got that hardcore audience, like people like us that like that kind of stuff. So good for them. Kicking it off Ace of Spades by Moby.
15:22-15:30
Do you have a collection of articles from the internet that you want to read, but don’t have time to dive into at the moment?

16:32-16:45
Alright, that was a new one by DrowningPool. It’s so great to see those guys back. Again, I grew up a huge fan of them. Such a shame their original lead singer passed away.
16:45-17:03
They’ve had a few different lead singers over the years since then. You know, it’s one of those things where it’s, you know, I hate to say the front man is everything, but it definitely is a big part of the band.
17:03-17:15
It’s very hard to replace the front man. One band that did manage to do it, though, was Queen with, of course, Adam Lambert and they are in a ton of success with that.
17:15-17:35
The reason I’m bringing that up, Louder had an article today, actually it was the other day, saying that Queen is the number one streamed classic rock band on the internet, on Spotify anyway.
17:35-17:50
It’s the most like, no surprise, Bohemian Rhapsody, which is ranked one of the greatest songs of all time, has over 2.75 billion streams.
17:50-18:10
Queen’s catalog, along with another one Bytes of Dust, no surprise there. Queen led by Indian Compro, Freddie Mercury, ranks just outside of the top 50 most streamed artists of all time on Spotify.
18:10-18:24
They have more than 25 billion total streams. They average about 8.5 billion streams per day in 2025.
18:24-18:36
Wow, they are, like I said, one of the biggest bands on the platform. So good for them, man.
18:36-18:49
Bohemian Rhapsody alone has 2.75 billion streams. Currently sitting at number 54 with more than 25 billion total streams.
18:49-18:55
The classic rock group is averaging more than 8.5 billion streams per day in 2025.
18:55-19:07
Samus between modern artist Dojo Cat at number 52 and Shakira at number 57.
19:07-19:19
Let’s see what else it has to say. Bohemian Rhapsody under the name Bytes of Dust.
19:19-19:27
Yeah, that doesn’t surprise me, especially with the huge success of their movie. That does not surprise me at all.
19:27-19:36
Also, and two by the way, the touring and stuff they’re doing. I mean, they’re just a classic. You could turn on a Queen song and anybody likes it.
19:36-19:42
From my younger daughter to my older mother. I mean, it’s just one of those, man.
19:42-19:54
The other one too that Louder pointed out. Apparently Master of Puppets by Metallica gets added to Spotify’s Elite Billions Club.
19:54-20:01
Joining Metallica’s other hit, Nothing Else Matters and Enter the Sandman.
20:01-20:08
Those are some of Metallica’s top streamed songs.
20:08-20:12
Let’s see anyone else.
20:12-20:17
Yeah, there are only a couple by Metallica that have entered the Billion Club.
20:17-20:24
But still good for them, man. Very few people can say they’re in the Billions Club. So good for them.
20:24-20:31
That is freaking awesome, by the way. To get over a billion streams on Spotify. I mean, that is…
20:31-20:40
It’s hard enough to get noticed on Spotify. Especially with the…
20:40-20:50
Nowadays, it’s just tough. It’s not like back in the day where you just… Somebody buys your CD at a show. You got to get found and all that.
20:50-20:54
It’s a tough business, definitely.
20:54-21:04
But it’s cool to see those guys. Metallica, definitely one of my favorite bands. Definitely Legends along with Queen.
21:04-21:11
Queen is one of my favorites too. I can listen to Queen pretty much all the time. I love all their music.
21:11-21:18
They are just so great. It’s just like Rolling Stones. You can turn them on anytime and it just fits.
21:18-21:20
Great music.
21:20-21:27
Kicking it off now with Honest Man, Grace’s Fury. All right, Sleep Token, Caramel.
21:27-21:32
And before that, new one from Shine Down.
21:32-21:39
So, folks, one thing I do want to bring up for those of you…
21:39-21:45
I try my best not to make this show political.
21:45-22:00
But I do want to bring up an announcement made that TikTok gets another 75-day extension as the US pushes the deadline back.
22:00-22:08
What I do think is going to happen and what a lot of people think is going to happen is that Amazon has made a bid for it.
22:08-22:13
So we’ll have to see what happens with that.
22:13-22:18
Also, two tariffs people have been…
22:18-22:27
It’s funny to me, so a friend of mine works at a Verizon store and he said that the iPhones there as well as the ones at the Apple stores,
22:27-22:37
they are selling as many iPhones as Christmastime just because everybody’s buying a new phone because they’re afraid the prices are going to…
22:37-22:39
because of the tariffs.
22:39-22:48
However, today it was announced that electronics, phones, routers, computers, all that will not receive tariffs.
22:48-22:52
So you could put your mind at ease if you were going to run to the Apple store.
22:52-22:54
You do not have to do that tomorrow.
22:54-22:57
Actually, Apple stores are closed on Sunday.
22:57-22:59
But you don’t have to run out.
22:59-23:03
You don’t have to rush to the Apple store, the Verizon store.
23:03-23:08
It looks like the tariffs are going to not be on electronics.
23:08-23:16
But this kind of has a gotcha because while electronics won’t be tariffed,
23:16-23:21
I think like 3D printers and filament and stuff are still going to be tariffed.
23:21-23:24
So kind of a little…
23:24-23:29
And we’ll see what happens on Monday with the stock market.
23:29-23:35
I think I said I try not to be too political here, but that was pretty breaking news.
23:35-23:41
Companies like Razor… We actually use Razor webcams here for our meetings and stuff like that.
23:41-23:46
Not so much for the radio show, obviously, because it’s audio only, but for meetings and stuff like that.
23:46-23:52
And Razor had announced that they were pausing laptop sales, camera sales, all that kind of stuff.
23:52-24:01
I mean, not a big deal. We’ve got a couple of webcams laying around, but I know people were rather upset about that.
24:01-24:08
So, like I said, but it looks like I think we might be in the clear as far as the electronics go.
24:08-24:14
Because I think that’s the big one. The phones, the computers, the iPads, all that stuff that comes overseas.
24:14-24:25
I’m sure Apple had… I mean, Apple flew what? 5 or 6 big jets of cargo liners over here with iPhones.
24:25-24:30
I know like Lenovo and stuff. We’re trying to stock up on that stuff.
24:30-24:35
So, like I said, I think we’re in the clear for now.
24:35-24:41
I’m waiting to… Actually, I’m more curious about what’s going to happen with TikTok, only because I know a lot of people,
24:41-24:46
especially moms and stuff that make money on there.
24:46-24:51
I know my friend of mine, she… You know, it’s a mom. She’s got five kids.
24:51-24:58
And that’s like when her kids are napping, she’s on TikTok selling stuff. That’s how she makes money.
24:58-25:02
So, good for her. You know, she’s got to host 75 days.
25:02-25:09
I think it’s tough because people are relying. But I think at this point, somebody’s going to buy it.
25:09-25:13
But we don’t know. I mean, I think they’re going to buy it. I’m pretty sure.
25:13-25:19
But that’s the problem. You don’t know. It’s all that kind of up in the air right now kind of thing.
25:19-25:24
So, we will have to wait and see what happens.
25:24-25:30
So, interesting. Somebody… I got a message from my friend Howard.
25:30-25:35
He’s apparently listening to the show “Wants to Hear Here” Hailstorm.
25:35-25:43
So, we’re going to play that next, followed by a new one by Adelina’s way, Deja Vu.
25:43-25:47
Here on Helix, a rock. Great.
25:47-25:52
I got a little kickback to the past coming up here in the next couple of minutes.
25:52-26:01
So, I ran up the stairs to the studio because the music was going to stop.
26:01-26:05
So, a couple of things I want to talk about.
26:05-26:13
Those of us that like the morning shows, Kelly and Mark, well, the show’s name is live.
26:13-26:20
Live with Kelly and Mark, Changes Studios. They are, like I said, they are leaving.
26:20-26:29
They’re, I mean, where they’ve been, that show’s been since, like, Regis did it with somebody before Kathy Lee.
26:29-26:35
They are going down the street to Walt Disney headquarters.
26:35-26:45
Apparently, it’s a state-of-the-art studio and they’re going to be in there now permanently, leaving the other place.
26:45-26:51
I don’t, a lot of people have asked me and I’ve seen things online, what’s going to happen.
26:51-26:56
I don’t know, maybe, maybe Disney’s going to remodel it. I don’t know. I have no idea.
26:56-27:01
But they move down there now. So, that’s pretty cool.
27:01-27:05
The reason why that’s big news is because Channel 7 news comes out of there too.
27:05-27:11
And apparently, they’re also moving down to Walt Disney headquarters too.
27:11-27:20
I guess Disney built the new headquarters there and I guess they’re trying to consolidate everybody under one roof.
27:20-27:23
So, everybody’s getting out of that building.
27:23-27:28
And I think as well, I think, I think to view as well as it might be moving.
27:28-27:33
Anything owned by ABC is like getting put into the new Disney.
27:33-27:37
I mean, I get it. It’s New York real estate. They’re trying to save money.
27:37-27:41
If they can put everybody in one building, they’re going to save a ton of money.
27:41-27:47
But it’s pretty interesting that they’re, like I said, I don’t know what’s going to happen yet.
27:47-27:52
There’s talks about they’re going to remodel that building. They’re going to sell it. Who knows?
27:52-27:59
But that’s interesting that they’re moving. Disney headquarters is huge.
27:59-28:04
I got to look at a couple, there’s like a bunch of people have been,
28:04-28:08
because they’ve been letting people come in and YouTubers and stuff.
28:08-28:12
A state of the art building. Unbelievable.
28:12-28:19
If the sun shines through the windows too much, the windows will automatically close the blinds and stuff like that.
28:19-28:24
It’s really cool. It’s just really a state of the art building.
28:24-28:29
Disney’s got the money. They’ll just make more Avengers movies.
28:29-28:35
But like I said, they’re New York headquarters. They’re consolidating everything.
28:35-28:43
The only thing that was shocking to me, I understand moving like the morning shows and stuff like that down there.
28:43-28:48
Moving the news, I was like, hmm.
28:48-28:55
Because now that I don’t know, I guess they have the reason for doing it, but it was weird to me that they move the news.
28:55-29:01
That one shocked me because it takes a lot to run a news station.
29:01-29:05
I’m surprised they would take that into account in New York.
29:05-29:10
I guess it is what it is, but they moved.
29:10-29:17
So a lot of history there, but it was pretty neat to see the new studio.
29:17-29:21
Everybody’s like, well, it’s like night and day.
29:21-29:26
But yeah, I mean, you build a brand new studio. You’re going to have all state of the art stuff.
29:26-29:31
You’re not piecemealing equipment over years. You’re going to get all brand new.
29:31-29:36
So like I said, it’s pretty neat to see them move.
29:36-29:42
Speaking of movies and Disney and all that, obviously not Disney move,
29:42-29:50
but Minecraft movie strikes gold with the best opening weekend of the year.
29:50-29:58
Kind of surprised. I like Minecraft. I do play it sometimes.
29:58-30:05
Kind of shocked though to see it do a hundred and some million dollars opening weekend.
30:05-30:10
I didn’t think it was that good. My kids didn’t bug me to take them.
30:10-30:13
My buddies kids didn’t bug them to take them.
30:13-30:17
So I’m kind of curious. I just don’t.
30:17-30:25
I get it’s big, but it’s weird to me that nobody asked to go.
30:25-30:31
So maybe they’re marketing it at a different age group. I don’t know.
30:31-30:40
Somebody at somebody sent me an email saying it might not be the right age group.
30:40-30:46
Well, I don’t know. What is it? PG 13?
30:46-30:58
Speaking of movies that had huge opening weekends, apparently while Captain America Brave New World,
30:58-31:01
you know, that’s been out quite a while.
31:01-31:08
It actually surpassed the first Batman that Tim Burton did in the 80s as far as gross.
31:08-31:12
So it’s moving right along, man.
31:12-31:15
It’s due for a digital release soon.
31:15-31:23
So it might probably not break any more records, but it did surpass the first Disney.
31:23-31:26
I’m sorry, the first Batman movie by Burton.
31:26-31:31
So actually, yeah, it’s actually PG, the Minecraft movie.
31:31-31:34
So I’m kind of surprised my kids didn’t bug me to take them.
31:34-31:41
Like I said, I’m not really sure exactly why, but I don’t know anybody that went to see it.
31:41-31:46
Kind of surprised it made a big weekend like that, but good for them.
31:46-31:58
Kicking it back now a little bit with Foo Fighters, followed by Nirvana and Pearl Jam here on Helix Rock Radio.
31:58-32:06
You know, I have heard this song a million times and I still don’t know what he’s saying.
32:06-32:13
By the way, if you ever go see Pearl Jam live in concert, he will actually mix the words up.
32:13-32:15
It’s pretty funny.
32:15-32:19
So, oh, excuse me as I choke.
32:19-32:23
Wanted to talk about some tech stuff here quickly.
32:23-32:29
AT&T announced in their ending the email to text feature.
32:29-32:37
The service shuts down in June because they’re presuming that not many people use the feature anymore.
32:37-32:39
I would agree with that.
32:39-32:44
I mean, there’s still always, with any service, going to be some stragglers, but yeah, they are ending it.
32:44-32:49
A lot of people I know still, which is pretty crazy.
32:49-32:57
I’ve never used this feature and surprisingly when I’m talking to some friends of mine about it, they’re like, oh, I love that feature.
32:57-33:02
Well, I’ve never used it ever and I didn’t think you used it.
33:02-33:04
Some other news.
33:04-33:09
Chat GPT is free for college students through the end of May.
33:09-33:12
That was news the other day.
33:12-33:20
So if you’re in college and you are wanting to try chat GPT, go ahead and try it.
33:20-33:22
So I thought this was an interesting article.
33:22-33:25
I was shocked by this.
33:25-33:29
Apparently, Instagram is working on an iPad app.
33:29-33:31
Like, what year is it?
33:31-33:34
I’m surprised they, I mean, why don’t they have one already?
33:34-33:36
It’s been how long?
33:36-33:40
I just like, I’m, this one shocked me when I read this.
33:40-33:42
I was like, they don’t have one.
33:42-33:44
Interesting.
33:44-33:48
So that was Facebook was talking about the Heather.
33:48-33:52
They’re going to, I’m like, well, I thought you would have one by now.
33:52-33:57
To Jaylin, Jay and Silent Bob get added to call the duty.
33:57-34:01
That was news for some reason.
34:01-34:05
If you like Jay and Silent Bob, go ahead and check it out.
34:05-34:09
They’re in call to duty now.
34:09-34:11
So something else.
34:11-34:14
Reason why I bring this up with the text.
34:14-34:18
There’s a movie called the amateur that’s out now.
34:18-34:22
It is with the guy from he played an eye robot.
34:22-34:27
He played in Bohemia and Rhapsody played Freddie Mercury.
34:27-34:31
Rami forgive me if I butcher his name Rami Melick.
34:31-34:38
He plays a CIA agent who’s a tech guy and is going after people that killed his wife.
34:38-34:46
It’s very, you know, Mr. Robot, you know, 2.0, I guess, looking at the trailer.
34:46-34:50
But Lauren Fish burns in it.
34:50-34:56
John Benaral, I forget, he’s the guy that plays the punisher and he was in Walking Dead.
34:56-34:58
They’re in it.
34:58-35:01
It’s got really good reviews.
35:01-35:04
92% on Google people.
35:04-35:05
So they liked it.
35:05-35:08
88% on Fandango.
35:08-35:11
Rotten Tomatoes only at 61.
35:11-35:13
But this was a big movie out.
35:13-35:16
A lot of my friends went to see this weekend.
35:16-35:18
They didn’t go see Minecraft.
35:18-35:24
But the reason I’m bringing it up, like I said, I have not seen it yet, but a lot of my friends went to see it.
35:24-35:26
They say it’s it’s really good.
35:26-35:31
I mean, you figure he would be good in that he played a similar role in I robot.
35:31-35:36
Mr. Robot. So not really surprising there.
35:36-35:37
Let’s see.
35:37-35:49
So I have a request that was sent into the station email, Brandon@rockradio.live from Lauren says we’re keeping her company tonight.
35:49-35:51
She works the late night shift.
35:51-35:53
Well, thank you very much.
35:53-36:04
Remember the days when I used to work late nights? Art Bell, the legendary Art Bell used to keep me keep me company on the coast to coast AM when I was a kid.
36:04-36:07
It’s funny how you remember those things.
36:07-36:10
Probably one of the reasons I got into radio.
36:10-36:16
She wants to hear live in my life by theory of a dead man.
36:16-36:21
It’s a song is a little country for me, but she asked if we could play it for.
36:21-36:23
Yeah, I like it.
36:23-36:29
Not my favorite theory of a dead man song, but it’s not not bad.
36:29-36:31
We are going to.
36:31-36:35
Well, I guess they’re I mean their local talent, motionless away.
36:35-36:37
We’re going to play some of them next.
36:37-36:50
But I would like to talk about for a minute about the Handmaiden’s Tale that so is back on Hulu.
36:50-36:55
It’s a very interesting story for it’s final season, and there has been a ton of promotion for it.
36:55-36:58
She was on all the morning shows.
36:58-37:00
There’s just tons of promotion for it.
37:00-37:02
My wife really likes that show.
37:02-37:04
I never really got into it.
37:04-37:10
But a lot of people don’t realize there was actually a movie in the 70s.
37:10-37:16
The book’s been around a while, but it was actually a movie in the 70s as too.
37:16-37:21
And I think I think there was another limited series as well at some point.
37:21-37:28
It’s a popular it was a popular shoes, but I think this the one on Hulu definitely brought it back.
37:28-37:31
I know, like I said, it’s it’s it’s a very popular show.
37:31-37:33
It’s one of who’s flagships.
37:33-37:36
So I wanted to kind of give it a little plug.
37:36-37:39
It’s my wife’s favorite show.
37:39-37:45
Speaking of some of my wife’s favorites, motionless and white coming up, followed by a machine head.
37:45-37:51
And in flames here on Helix of Rock Radio.
37:51-37:53
In flames.
37:53-38:04
You know, they are they’re perfect to be with with the Coonacoyle because their sound is very similar that European kind of rock sound.
38:04-38:06
It’s actually pretty cool.
38:06-38:10
So I wanted to bring up an article.
38:10-38:14
Let me reach over and grab it that I print out.
38:14-38:18
So I’ll give you a little context with this article.
38:18-38:36
So the mayor of the mayor of one New Jersey town says the charitable efforts of rock star John Bon Jovi and his wife are creating problems, but others in the area say they are not to blame.
38:36-38:41
So JBL soup kitchen helps serve those in need.
38:41-38:46
So Bon Jovi and his wife have the Bon Jovi soul foundation.
38:46-38:52
It’s basically the couple established the JBJ soul kitchen.
38:52-38:55
It’s a nonprofit community restaurant.
38:55-39:04
It serves Red Bank, which is where Bon Jovi lives, Tom’s River, which is right next door to Red Bank, Newark and Jersey City.
39:04-39:06
So it’s got four locations.
39:06-39:16
They also recently started a pop up kitchen in Ocean County library in Tom’s River.
39:16-39:23
And Bon Jovi and his wife celebrated a milestone 200,000 meals served.
39:23-39:35
So the way the restaurant works is, you know, either you can volunteer your time or if you can’t volunteer your time, you know, you can come eat, you pay for your meal, or you come in, you can donate.
39:35-39:40
You can donate all that kind of stuff, you know, food, money, whatever.
39:40-39:41
But it’s really cool.
39:41-39:43
You could eat, you know, eat there.
39:43-39:45
That obviously helps as well.
39:45-39:50
So it’s a really wonderful organization.
39:50-40:02
And apparently a lot of people that have fallen on hard times, especially with this inflation crap, you know, are able to come in and eat.
40:02-40:07
A couple people have said, I go in there and eat just because I want to help support the charity.
40:07-40:09
Other people say they donate their time.
40:09-40:16
And of course, the people, you know, the homeless people say it’s great to be able to get a decent meal.
40:16-40:23
You know, and you have to understand to those of you that don’t know, Bon Jovi is from New Jersey.
40:23-40:26
So this is a pretty big deal.
40:26-40:28
He’s like royalty down there.
40:28-40:35
But you have to understand to he lives in Tom’s River and a red Tom’s River and a red bank.
40:35-40:39
They’re very uppity areas.
40:39-40:43
I hate to say that, but it’s very expensive to live only.
40:43-40:54
You know, it’s I mean, there are some people down there that are regular people, but it’s it’s a very you got to be rich to live down there.
40:54-40:56
It’s just that kind of area.
40:56-41:00
Obviously, Newark in Jersey City or not.
41:00-41:12
But apparently the the restaurants could be living on a prayer if the Tom’s River Mayor, Daniel Roderick has his way.
41:12-41:14
He made the comment.
41:14-41:15
I definitely want it gone.
41:15-41:21
I want the country to stop dropping all their homeless off in Tom’s River.
41:21-41:23
He said.
41:23-41:35
Bon Jovi’s restaurant is making his township a haven for homelessness, claiming the nonprofits are gathering people from across the state and bringing them to the township just to eat.
41:35-41:37
And then they’re staying there.
41:37-41:47
We certainly don’t want this to happen while he’s doing a good well Bon Jovi’s doing good work.
41:47-41:50
This is becoming a bigger incident.
41:50-41:55
They’re saying there’s been an increase in crime.
41:55-41:58
There’s been an increase in homeless people.
41:58-42:04
You know, and it’s all thanks to Bon Jovi’s soup kitchen, they’re saying.
42:04-42:14
Bon Jovi released a statement saying that the JBL Soul Foundation and the JBL Soul kitchen are committed to ending homelessness through real solutions.
42:14-42:20
Like we are not here to just move people around to force them into the shadows.
42:20-42:23
Our foundation was built nearly.
42:23-42:32
Well, sorry, has built nearly 1000 units of affordable home and is providing food to those that need it.
42:32-42:38
Yeah, because John Bon Jovi to also does a lot of that Habitat for Humanity.
42:38-42:56
And last year, I think it was the Bon Jovi Foundation and Habitat for Humanity did that huge well helping people after Sandy and all that kind of rebuilding down towards seaside and all that kind of stuff.
42:56-43:02
And I mean, Bon Jovi has done so much good work in New Jersey.
43:02-43:04
He’s never forgotten where he’s came from.
43:04-43:07
He’s like royalty down there.
43:07-43:12
I don’t like to get political, but I just want to shout out to this organization.
43:12-43:15
You know, feeding the homeless.
43:15-43:16
He doesn’t have to do it.
43:16-43:22
He never forgot where he came from and he’s trying to do good work.
43:22-43:28
And this is a politician that just doesn’t he doesn’t want homeless in Tom’s River.
43:28-43:36
There’s been there’s comments on this article online that I’m pulling up people saying that, you know,
43:36-43:39
I’m worried about the homeless and their property values and all that.
43:39-43:43
I wanted to bring that up because Bon Jovi is one of my favorite artists.
43:43-43:46
I really respect what his wife has done.
43:46-43:48
They they’re a long time married.
43:48-43:50
They’re big philanthropists.
43:50-43:55
And I don’t think it’s really right that he’s being, you know, kind of treated this way.
43:55-44:06
He’s trying to, you know, give back to the people that, you know, that, you know, he’s trying to give back to the community to where he, you know, came from.
44:06-44:10
And of course, hitting kind of in a snag with this.
44:10-44:12
It’s pretty ridiculous.
44:12-44:19
I like I said, if you want to help out, you can go on the site and donate to the charity.
44:19-44:22
He really does wonderful work and I’m going to be happier.
44:22-44:36
I feel bad he’s getting hit with this, but this is a politician worried about, you know, pleasing the people and all that, especially in an area like that where, you know, you got to be pretty well off to live.
44:36-44:41
Like I said, you know, it’s sad and annoys me.
44:41-44:47
All right, I figure I’ll play a little, little Bon Jovi one of his newer songs.
44:47-44:50
We were just talking about him last, last break.
44:50-45:00
So one of the other things folks, I did want to talk about is of course we were talking about video games.
45:00-45:05
Microsoft announced pretty big news this week.
45:05-45:18
They are going to be showcasing a bunch of games at the outer world to which is pretty big event.
45:18-45:23
Like I said, it’s going to hold its annual Xbox games showcase on Sunday 8th this year.
45:23-45:26
They expect to announce out of World 2.
45:26-45:32
Microsoft has a ton of stuff that they’re going to be debuting.
45:32-45:42
There is rumor that there’s going to be something, something, some of the games that are Xbox only possibly could go to PlayStation.
45:42-45:56
There’s a bunch of kind of big news coming up that, you know, there’s rumors that they’re going to put Xbox, man, I can’t tongue-tack this last thing.
45:56-46:05
Xbox, they’re going to be bringing the Xbox cloud, X cloud to possibly PlayStation.
46:05-46:07
I can’t see that flying with PlayStation though.
46:07-46:11
I can’t picture that improving, approving that.
46:11-46:22
That would really, I mean, I don’t think they would allow that because I mean, that would kind of be kind of going against what they do with PlayStation 1.
46:22-46:31
So we’ll have to say, like I said, the Summer Game Fest is like I said, that’s a big deal.
46:31-46:46
Like I said, it’s supposed to be on June 6th. It starts, but Microsoft will be there doing it on the 8th because that goes most of the, I guess, in most of the week.
46:46-46:49
Like I said, there’s there’s a lot of games they’re talking about.
46:49-46:57
They say they might be fable, Gears of War, State of Decay, Clockworth Revolution.
46:57-47:04
There’s a lot of big games that they think Microsoft’s going to announce also, like I said, for PlayStation.
47:04-47:07
So we’ll have to wait and see.
47:07-47:10
Those of us that have Xboxes, I don’t know.
47:10-47:19
I think that Microsoft is going to, they said it, that their plan is to put Xbox everywhere.
47:19-47:30
So I think Microsoft, while they’re not going to stop making the game console, they definitely are going to try to get stuff on the PlayStation.
47:30-47:35
They’re going to try to get stuff in the cloud. They’re going to try to get stuff on Nintendo.
47:35-47:44
Microsoft’s original strategy from years ago of, okay, we’re going to make these exclusives and people that come to our platforms because of the exclusive.
47:44-47:51
I don’t think, you know, Microsoft’s kind of proving that, you know, the more they put stuff out there, the more money they make.
47:51-47:56
So, like I said, it’s definitely an interesting time in gaming.
47:56-48:02
I think Microsoft with Game Pass is kind of a gaming as a service.
48:02-48:05
Unfortunately, PlayStation doesn’t release their numbers.
48:05-48:10
A lot of people really predict that Microsoft’s game passes way ahead.
48:10-48:20
One thing Microsoft did announce is that, you know, PlayStation, the sales of, I’m sorry, the sales of Blizzard games is down,
48:20-48:28
but the subscription and the people playing Blizzard games on Xbox Game Pass is up.
48:28-48:31
So I think what they want to happen is happening.
48:31-48:38
People are going to Game Pass to play the Blizzard games and, you know, the Activision games and all that.
48:38-48:40
So it’s really, really cool.
48:40-48:43
Kicking it off with Judas by Faze.
48:43-48:50
Faze led by, of course, the awesome Chris Jericho, who is an AEW.
48:50-48:53
I want to thank you guys for hanging out with me today.
48:53-48:54
It’s been a blast.
48:54-49:00
I leave you with one of my favorite bands and one of my favorite songs, Creed What If.
49:00-49:07
Thank you very much, guys, and we will see you next week on the Saturday Shit Show.
